2025 Early Career Investigator Awards

The Crohn’s & Colitis Congress will provide Early Career Investigators Awards to up to ten abstract presenters for the 2025 meeting. Award recipients will receive complementary registration for the 2025 meeting.

Applicants for the award must:

  • Be listed as the presenting author of an abstract submitted for consideration for the 2025 Crohn’s & Colitis Congress.
  • Be an early-career researcher (i.e., currently in training or within 5 years of completing their training).
  • Submit an application by 12 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024.

Applications must be submitted online. Previous recipients of the award are not eligible to apply.

Award notifications will be emailed in mid-December.

Application Information

The Crohn’s & Colitis Congress will award complementary registration to the 2022 meeting to up to ten young investigators and five nurses and advanced practice providers. Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, Sept. 8 through 9 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2022. 

Applicants are:

  • Early career investigators currently in training or within five years of completing their training.
  • Listed as the presenting author of an abstract accepted for oral or poster presentation at the 2021 Crohn’s & Colitis Congress..

Recipients will receive complementary registration to the 2021 meeting.

The deadline for young investigators and nurses to submit an application for complementary registration to the 2022 meeting has passed. 

Notifications will be sent to all applicants in early December. 

Young Investigators Abstract Awards

  • Congress administration will award up to ten young investigators complementary registration for the 2024 Congress.
  • Applicants for the award must be an early career investigator currently in training or within five years of completing their training; additionally, applicants must be listed as the presenting author of an abstract accepted for presentation at the 2024 Crohn’s & Colitis Congress.
  • To apply, complete and submit all three award questions as part of an abstract submission by 9 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023.
  • Applicants will be asked to briefly describe their career stage and how Congress attendance will benefit their career in 4000 or fewer characters.
  • Applicants are not required to be the submitting author of the abstract; instead, submitting authors may complete the application fields on behalf of the applicant provided that the applicant composes the personal statement.
  • Prior award recipients are not eligible to receive a 2024 award.
  • Award notifications will be emailed to applicants in December 2023.

Applicants for the Young Investigators Abstract Award must be:

  • Early career investigators currently in training or within five years of completing their training.
  • Listed as the presenting author of an abstract accepted for oral or poster presentation at the 2022 Crohn’s & Colitis Congress.

Applications may be submitted at the abstract submission site. To apply for the award, complete the “Awards” fields when submitting an abstract. Applicants are asked to verify their eligibility and also provide a brief (4000 characters maximum) personal statement.

Applicants are not required to be the submitting author of the abstract; instead, submitting authors may complete the application fields on behalf of the applicant provided that the applicant composes the personal statement.

Applications are due at the abstract submission site by 9 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021. Previous recipients of the award are not eligible to apply.

Nurses/Advanced Practice Providers Award

  • The Crohn’s & Colitis Congress will award up to five nurses or advanced practice providers complimentary registration to the 2023 Crohn’s & Colitis Congress.
  • Applicants for the Nurses/Advanced Practice Providers Award must be a registered nurse, clinical nurse specialist, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant in any practice setting currently involved in IBD patient management. Graduate students in any of the listed fields with an identified interest in the IBD patient population will also be considered.
  • Applications for the Nurses/Advanced Practice Providers Award will be accepted online through 12 p.m. (noon) EDT on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022.
  • To apply for the award, applicants must submit the following materials:
    • Current curriculum vitae.
    • Estimate of the average number of IBD patients seen weekly in your practice setting.
    • A brief (500 words or fewer) statement as to why attending the Crohn’s & Colitis Congress is important to you and the patients you manage. Please state the significance your participation in this conference will have on your practice, patient care or knowledge of IBD. Include how you will share your experience with others (if applicable), list any questions you hope this conference will help answer, or share any ideas or projects that you hope to develop further as a result of attending this conference.
  • Previous recipients of the award are not eligible to receive a 2023 award.
  • Award notifications will be sent by email in December 2022.

Nurses and advanced practice providers may apply for complementary registration to the 2022 Crohn’s & Colitis Congress.

As part of the application, applicants are asked to submit their CV and a brief (500 words or less) personal statement.

Applications must be submitted by 9 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021. Previous recipients of the award are not eligible to apply.
