Crohn’s & Colitis Congress: Vision & Goals
The Crohn’s & Colitis Congress, a collaborative effort between the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and the American Gastroenterological Association Institute, aims to advance patient-centric care in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Our mission is to foster a multidisciplinary approach, promoting knowledge exchange,
innovative research, and best practices to enhance IBD management and patient outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Executive Committee
Insight & Evaluation
- Analyze program evaluation and provide insights on emerging trends in IBD treatment and care.
- Gather insights from healthcare professionals and researchers to inform Congress activities.
- Recognize and incorporate diverse patient needs and perspectives in program content development.
Strategic Guidance
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for Congress activities, considering the evolving landscape of IBD care.
- Offer strategic guidance on adapting Congress formats and content to meet changing needs.
- Provide oversight on scientific and practical aspects of Congress programming.
Program Development
- Oversee the development of Congress tracks and sessions, ensuring relevance and scientific rigor.
- Curate a balanced and comprehensive agenda, encompassing key aspects of IBD management and research.
- Support and facilitate networking opportunities and interactive sessions to enhance participant engagement.
Communication & Coordination
- Facilitate effective communication channels between the Executive Committee, Organizing Committee, and Congress attendees.
- Ensure that Congress’ activities reflect the collective interests and expertise of the IBD community.
- Attending Congress including receptions and networking events.
Responsibilities of the Crohn’s & Colitis Organizing Committee
Strategic Guidance
- Provide input on Congress structure, considering future trends and logistical aspects.
- Aid in identifying potential areas for innovation in Congress programming.
Content Creation & Oversight
- Collaboratively select and review content for Congress sessions, including speaker recommendations and abstract submissions.
- Ensure that the scientific program aligns with the evolving landscape of IBD treatment and research.
Communication & Coordination
- Work closely with the Executive Committee to align Congress’ activities with overarching goals.
- Promote active participation and collaboration among Congress attendees.
- Attend Congress including receptions and networking events
- Aid in refining the welcome event theme.

Both committees are dedicated to:
- Enhancing the educational experience by featuring cutting-edge topics and speakers.
- Encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and information exchange.
- Upholding the highest standards of supporting evidence-based content, providing prompt responses to emails including disclosures, ARS, and slide requests.
- Maintaining a commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the Congress.
